Journaling: Ume is a plum, though orginally from China, has a rich history to Japan. The Ume tree produces beautiful early blooms which to the Japanese, is a symbol of resilience. It bears a sour fruit used in wine, umeboshi (rice, seaweed and Ume fruit) and wine.
