@cfile Thanks, Christa. I'm not sure how I feel about it since the photo here is in color versus the b&w or sepia ones I've been using. And truthfully, I wouldn't have photos of 99% of her recipes. Still thinking on that one...
My Slovenian mom makes these all the time. Never had a recipe though because she just throws stuff together without measuring. Love your layout because now I have a recipe!!! Thank you!!!
Also if you are concerned about the photo, how about a nice peachy apricot filter on it. I think that would go nicely with the title card
@weaselwatchr You'll have to let me know what you think of the recipe. I would make them specifically for my brother and I ended up halving the recipe (easy enough) because he couldn't eat them all before going stale. He's a perpetual bachelor. and lives alone. Anyway, a couple of years ago, when making them, I messed up. I halved the flour and butter but forgot to halve the water. I said a few cuss words and proceeded. The dough (which can be pretty tricky to roll out) rolled with no problem, an absolute dream. But then I thought that the dough would be tough, since adding water usually does that. My brother gave them a 2 thumbs up with the extra water. This past Christmas, I made them again, but intentionally added in more water. Not quite 1/2 C, probably closer to 1/3 with 2 C flour & 1/2 lb butter. They were easy to roll out. So that's my recommendation to you. Also, butter dough can be a pain to manipulate. You have to find the right pliability. I usually make the dough one day, wrap it & put it into the fridge overnight. And then I take it out in the a.m. and it isn't totally rock hard in about 4-5 hours. I mix the dough in a food processor, so easy.
And I did manipulate the color of the cookie on this layout. It turned out to be more of a garish yellow, and I'm not fond of yellow. I know I de-saturated it a bit. I hadn't thought of using a filter, but I may try that. Nothing has been printed yet. Thanks!
