I have more than a million words….
Deep roots, immeasurable love, laughter, tears, support, encouragement…disagreements, hurt of that kind that may cling to your heart…these and probably another million words wouldn’t be enough to describe the meaning of family to us… being far away makes one value even mores and adds another collection of words…. and these qualify for all families we have, the blood ones, the years and years (40+ in some cases) of friendships that become family, at times even stronger than some of the blood ones. And in this times of fast running technology, those who are miles and miles away (or probably just around the corner) those we would love to be closer physically but the dimension of that family feeling, once again, becomes even stringer than those of the blood type.
Our blood family, so so big it would be impossible to get them all in one photo, also spread around the world, and we have been particularly blessed with this one…. more loving and caring than those one much rather cross paths for just a few minutes (need to be honest with one self!)… the ones who become family and share life changing experiences, that have never abandoned you whatever place in the world you have been (especially if you consider those toes were kept together in no movie phones, no internet, but they were always there… many times telling you not exactly what you want to hear but therefore helping to make you grow with so much love and honesty….
and same applying to those we have not met, or maybe have and share a few days or even just a lunch time or a drink but the dimension of the encounter makes it worth years of lunches, dinners our drinks…. and once again…deep roots that make you proud, immeasurable love, limitless times of laughter, shared tears of both happiness or sadness, support in everyday possible, encouragement to build…and the ability to navigate disagreements, sometimes making it into a good outcome, others not so much, but all becoming part of us, making us grow, build new paths, strengthen Faith and filling the heart with Joy…. and, to me especially, the amazing feeling of looking back and generating another million words…proud, blessed, rich in ways no money can make you feel. Yes, I have more than a million words…. my families = My Everything.
