Birds can be a very divisive animal - people fall into the love camp or the avoid because they scare/carry disease etc or because of the Hitchcock movie so I'm glad to see this pic of your Mother - she's my kind of people - and i love that you've positioned her pic to be able to 'see' the different bird ellies on the left and love the little one peeking over the frame too!
@bellbird Thanks Justine.. She was editor of the local Audobon Chapter's Newletter, Past President for that same Chapter and ran many bird counts.. When I was in 2nd and 5th grades, she came and taught in my elementary school with segments of ornithology. She was well known and was friends too with all the Bird artists that wrote books... like Arthur Singer (Birds of North America - as well as co artist with his son for the US Stamps of Birds and flowers... ALso I think he also illustrated bird books for Europe too... she and Arthur were best buddies... also passing away within months of each other) I was blessed with an amazing Mom who also had a love of Nature... Dawn and I often talked about her since my Mom's friends were always bringing owls and birds of prey to my Mom after banding the birds... it was one other thing Dawn and I had in common. Hugs-
