font: Courier Journaling: "I love these wedding photos of my parents. This one in the top right, was a framed 8x10 picture that always sat on their dresser for as long as I can remember. Mom and Dad were married just 3 months shy of 35 years when Mom passed away. Dad still kept this photo on the dresser. Dad never remarried. For 23 years he still talked lovingly about Mom and we would reminisce about the fun times. Sure Dad went out with a few ladies during the years after Mom passed away, but he told me he would never ever marry again. Until the day he passed away he still loved my Mom. I wore their wedding rings and held his hand as he passed away. He was finally with the love of his life once again. Dad passed away in Nov 2012. He was cremated, and was with me here in VA until I could bring his ashes to NY and bury him with Mom. Gene and I decided that the Springtime would be best to have a Military Memorial with only close friends and family present. We decided their Wedding Anniversary weekend would be best to have the service so we could reunite them 23 years later. It was bitter sweet. We will always remember the love they shared and be forever grateful that God gave us the most wonderful parents in the world. They are our heros."
