I love the simple version of your layout as well. The touches of red are perfect against the light background. I love the page design here as well. And I'm a fan of the font you used for your words. Both layouts are so perfect! Love them both!
I love that you always scrap two pages for those who like lots and those who like little. You rock both! My favorite on this page is the "that's the start of who I am" because it's very difficult to sum up a whole person on one page! I might have to use that phrase or something similar on my page.
