Journaling reads: It was so important to me to breastfeed each of my babies and I cherished it so much. It was an intimate bond and each time was a quiet, special moment that only the two of us shared. With Bennie, it was the last time I would ever nurse a baby, which made our time together even more bittersweet. Imagine my heartbreak when he decided to wean himself at only a few months old. I was devastated and cried many nights. I wasn’t ready to give it up but Bennie was and he’s been asserting his independence ever since.
