This was hard! I had to plan so much--not used to doing that with my layouts... =) Good exercise, though.
5 items of inspiration from Judie's mood board: 1. Paint drips on wall; 2. coral and deep magenta colors; 3. orange & black (sequins); 4. dots on the butterfly and for the color scheme (also sequins); 5. varying size of text in quote (for which I used stamps of different sizes). Plus of course the hope for the year.

As Schroeder emphatically tells Lucy, it's not about money--it's about ART! Well, a little bit of money would be nice, too. But I'd really like to force myself to allow more time for pursuing a new way of seeing the world that I first explored seriously last year: watercolors. So different from line drawing! I was fascinated by the process of teasing out meaning and imagery, like I did with this painting, which started off horizontally, but in which I eventually found, and nurtured, a woman climbing the steep stairs in a stone castle tower. My hubby even asked me to frame it for his office!
