I took this photo of Kaylie and Liam shortly before we were to depart for the airport to go on our trip to Disneyworld in Florida. They were stunned, surprised and very excited.
All summer long I had been planning the trip, researching the parks, the rides, the restaurants, entertainment, and lodging. I knew that they would be wondering why I was doing research, so I told them that my friend Maria was taking her son to Disney and needed information. It was true, Maria went on the trip with us.
I wanted to tell them that they were going on vacation but knew how hard it would be for them to stop asking questions and how disruptive it would be for them to constantly think about the trip, so I kept it to myself.
The week before the trip, I collected all the school work that they would be missing, so they could complete it on the plane ride or at night and not fall behind. The day of the trip, I woke them up, got them dressed, gave them breakfast and THEN told them they were going to Disneyworld. Kaylie burst into tears and wanted to run upstairs to pack. Liam was super excited.

This is fantastic! I love that you kept the trip a surprise for the kids and I loved reading about their reactions. Great storytelling! And such a nice photo of the kids! Thanks for playing along with my challenge!
