Every Easter the local newspaper runs a digital egg hunt. Ten eggs are digitally "hidden" around town and a clue is given daily to each egg's location. Small prizes are awarded after the hunt. Each year my sister and I visit the locations. It has been a WONDERFUL way to learn about and experience the interesting/historical sites in the city where we grew up. This is Riddle #1 from 2015.

We gave them a home
On the Big Darby loam,
Where some deer
but no antelope play.
They are shaggy earth-shakers,
Tax-supported baby-makers.
In their midst,
the egg’s hiding today.

Metro Park

Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park is Franklin County's largest at over 7000 acres.
Landscape features include forests and trails, scenic rivers, and a native American mound and 18 acres of land being gradually restored to prairie grassland, thanks to a small herd of American bison. The shaggy beasts were brought to central Ohio from The Wilds, a conservation center in southeast Ohio. Over time, their natural activities (including "fertilizing" the ground) have begun to restore their home to its natural prairie state. The first Saturday in November is National Bison Day, a perfect time for a trip to the park.
