Journaling:
There was a time during my young adult years when I was struggling. It just so happened at a family gathering celebrating Independence Day that my two older sisters were sharing that they had a kitten that they had picked up from a farm, but need to find it a home because they already had too many pets. I mentioned that I would love to have this kitten. So, the next day I picked up the little black kitten named Sassy. Little did I know that this was one of the best things I could have done. This cat needed a forever home a person’s love. What I didn’t know at the time was that I needed this cat as much as she needed me. While I gave her the home and love she needed, she gave me a reason to keep going. She was the love and care I needed as well. Sassy brought me the positivity and strength to continue fighting my mental battles. I loved Sassy so much, she was my first pet that I had as an adult. Sassy lived to be 16 years old.
