I love my hobby. Scrapbooking is now a way of life for me and if I am not working or sleeping I tend to be thinking about my new layout.
In some form I have done scrapbooking since I was in primary school, but then it was mainly just collecting of pictures or magazine articles which I stuck into books, and getting pretty writing papers from my penpals. Over the years I had a few other hobbies like cross stich, sewing, tapestries and decopage, but as the desire for them changed, or the motivation to continue dwindled I would swop to a new hobby until I found scrapbooking and have stuck with that ever since.
Scrapbooking as we now know it took off in the early 2000s. I started making a baby book for Aaron just after he was born to record all the details. It was just a collection of photos and typed text put on papers in A4 size. Then in February 2003 Judi introduced me to the fancy scrapbooking as we know it. I went reluctantly to learn and was adamant that I didn't want to change my format... but eventually the bug bite (hard!) and I dove in with both feet into the big ocean of this hobby.... and have not looked back! I enjoyed playing with papers, glue and all the embellishements for many years. I did paper scrapbooking from 2003 to 2019. Finally I decided I had to swop to digital scrapbooking as I had run out of storage space for all my albums. Little did I know how much more I would scrap going digital.... my goal for many years was to do a page a day... ie 365 layouts a year. I never reached that until I went digital... now I am almost getting double that amount done... it's like I am addicted! Being on creative teams definitely helps with the amount of pages I do, plus lots of the sites have challenges that I complete each month.
Scrapbooking is now so ingrained in my everyday routine. I take photos, I scrap the layout, share the layout on my blog and anywhere else needed and hopefully one day will print out a book. This hobby has fulfilled my creative outlet for 20 years and I am sure it won't stop anytime soon. I do truly love to scrap!
