Journaling Says:
15 years ago we were looking for a fun way to pass the time during the winter months and we found ourselves becoming members of our local hockey association. Little did we know that not only our winter months would now involved a little hockey. We watched as Brady’s love for the game grew along with his confidence. Each season brought its challeges, successes and opportunties for growth not just as a skater but as a human being too. Brady had seasons where he preferred to only practice and wanted to skip games, which provided opportunity to learn how to work through anxieties and to be a team mate that can be counted one, he had years where he wasn’t getting home from practice until 11pm, teaching time management skills, he had years where the coaches were tough, expected more than he thought he had to give and he learned to work hard and push yourself to grow and improve. He also learned to not give up when it gets hard. As we are in the middle of our final hockey season, its easy to see the on and off ice skills that have been gained over the years. We couldn’t be more proud of the teammate he is, his coachability, his gentle leadership and his confidence he has gained as a young man off the ice. We are excited to see where the future takes him. If we knew then what we know now... I have no doubt we would do it all again.
