Journaling reads:
it wasn’t how we had originally planned to spend our anniversary, but as usual, we were thrown a curveball and decided to roll with it. so we kept our dinner reservations, bags packed in the backseat, abby hanging out in the back of the truck, and instead of finishing the evening with drinks at our favorite martini bar, we hit the road. destination: salem, oregon and a la quinta on interstate 5. the next morning, june 18, we headed east to a farm in scio, oregon, and an hour later, we were on our way home, with this little peanut in a box on the seat next to me. we had no idea what we were in store for.
who knew a dog could chew through a 4x4 post? or a foot board (twice). or that paws could act as hands and open drawers. or that dogs could be allergic to peanut butter. or like to dance. almost thirteen years later i am still shocked at the things she does. mostly at how she has captured my heart so completely and in so many ways, and clearly has no plans to ever let it go. and at how i’m totally okay with that.
Aw, Roxy is so adorable. And loved reading your journaling - great storytelling! Sounds like she likes to get into mischief too. A 4x4 post?! Of course, love your clean style and love that date element too. Thanks for playing along with my challenge!
