The photo was imperfect because it was too busy and nobody was looking at the camea.
Enlarged, changed to black & white and blended into background.

What struck me was the enlarged pic with the few splashes of gold & stars. Very striking. :-)

Thanks! I used Image-Adjustments-BlackAndWhite with the Maximum White Preset in Photoshop CC.
