Before this was a challenge at The Lilypad we had already talked about the ‘one word’ concept with Philippa and I had said mine was ‘consolidation’. I think she thought that was way too prosaic. But it is what it is. It’s been a crazy five years (to say the least) and we both now feel very settled and strong.This year we are planning to get the urgent work on the house finished, work hard, build up those buffers, stay here through winter and settle into island life before some more years of travel ahead. So far it’s going to plan other than B losing his wedding ring swimming in the sea, and having to switch up his running route to avoid ‘annoyances’ en route to Palm ;-) But such glitches elicit little more than an eyeroll these days.
