Journaling:
First of all, ten years ago I would have found it highly unlikely that I would have any sort of on-line presence. The idea of chat rooms and forums seemed suspicious at best. Then a friend introduced me to the world of digital scrapbooking. I remember the first time I had to come up with a username. I wanted desperately for it to be something anonymous and clever but everything I came up with was either already taken or just didn’t quite seem to fit - especially if I was thinking of keeping it longterm. Finally, it came down to the obvious. My username, ashleywb is simply my name. (Not my first name, but my middle name which my parents always intended to call me providing me with a lifetime of having to correct teachers and explain that I go by my middle name, but I digress) So, my name, ashley + the initial of my maiden name, Webster, + the initial of my married name, Brown.
Huh! I thought it was wb as in web... like Ashley's persona on the web, lol! I love the black and white with the pop of red! Wonderful photoless story!
Why do parents do that? Why not name a child what you want to call them! We had friends who gave their children long names, and called then a nickname for their middle name. I'm sorry you spent so much time correcting people! I love the simplicity you used! Thanks for sharing.
