The Dutch Wadden Islands consist of 5 inhabited and 3 uninhabited islands. The Afsluitdijk forms the border with the freshwater IJsselmeer. The dikes along the Dutch, Frisian and Groninger coasts protect the marine clay areas that were created by the reclamation of the salt marshes. In the east lies the border with Germany. Almost half of the Dutch Wadden Sea falls dry at low tide, which is great for seals and wading birds. The nature in the wadden region is very special and is on the list of World Heritage. The currents and tides make this very suitable for different plants and animals. You can also see a wide variety of landscapes, such as polders, flats, dunes and forest. Many parts of the islands have been declared protected areas. On the islands you can enjoy walking and cycling and enjoy the peace and quiet on the endless beaches. The Wadden Islands are fantastic islands to visit all year round, because the nature is also beautiful in winter.

This is wonderful. I love the fact that you included so many facts about the Wadden Islands. You've inspired me to visit. Also I am totally smitten by the compass (not the round one but the one with the pencil). Did you call that a passer? Anyway I clicked and searched through your links and was unable to find it. Would you direct me? Thank you.
