I have NEVER EVER EVER done this much recolouring in my life... But I must say I'm rather pleased with the way the page turned out. Not what I intended in the first place - I've now got three pages half done and hopefully will be able to use for the coming challenges. This was great fun in ways more than one. LOVED IT!!!!
The journaling reads:
Although parts of it did feel like a zoo, the whole experience was more like walking though a well-maintained jungle along a well-marked path. There were very few cages and the solid bars on hippo pond (in the pic) with us peeing in were more of an exception. There weren't many people and at time we felt so alone - and so hot - that we took the masks off. We were all terribly bitten by some flying insects - in the photo Josef and Katie are comparing their bites. We saw a bunch of orangutans, monkeys and a plethora of birds that looked like they were from another plant, tigers, giraffes and even an African lion, but didn't find the Komodo dragons and gorillas - so that's the plan for another day. P.S. We loved the place and found it most exotic, but it's funny that the true exotic animals we saw were the lion and the giraffes - the rest came from the nearby jungle or the surrounding islands and thus required minimum habitat recreation efforts.
Kit used is Morning Rituals - the Lilypad Collab though with all the heavy recolouring it's barely recognizable. I also used a template (and the transfers that came with is - all heavily recoloured).
I love how your use of a photo-led monochrome colour scheme has sunk the word art, text and embellishments into the background whilst pushing the all-important photos forward. Fantastic job of blending the main large photo into the background too. It is seamless.
