Journaling (161 words):
August 2020 - While on our camping tip near Mayerthorpe we decided to visit the Fallen Four Memorial park. The park was created to commemorate the sacrifice of four RCMP Officers who died in the line of duty March 3, 2005 near Mayerthorpe. There are four statues there in the likeness of the four RCMP that were killed. We paid our respects to all of them and the girls played in the playground next to the park for a bit. As an Albertan and a Canadian this is a tragic part of our history. That day 15 years ago is reported as the worst in Royal Canadian Mounted Police history, when James Roszko gunned down RCMP Constables
Leo Johnston,
Anthony Gordon,
Brock Myrol and
Peter Schiemann.
The plaque at the park says:
Honouring ALL peace officers who have died in the line of duty.
May their brave spirits soar.
We give thanks for them, and for all who still protect and serve.
Love the somber honouring of your layout, the selected highlighted text is restrained and thoughtful - in keeping with your subject. I think your take on this challenge is perfectly created.
