January 23: If These Walls Could Talk (Journaling Challenge)
Translation of the journaling:
"Oh ... it's so bright and cozy! I love it when they are here and I enjoy every minute of their company. I know, I'm just the walls of a summer cottage and it's part of my destiny to not have someone living in my rooms all year round ... That makes it all the more enjoyable when they are here.
The two older humans are here of course. They come to visit me often; I know them well. The young man and the young woman are here too this weekend. I know them too - I've seen them grow up and spend every summer here since they were tiny, tiny humans. But these days, they come less often - I guess they are busy in that thing called "city" they apparently live in.
There is a new young person too. Oh, the way she smiles at the young man across the table - I think they belong together! That's nice. I like her. I've heard her say several times today that she likes coming here, which is nice for an old wall to hear, of course.
But where did the first young woman go, the one I've known since she was little? Oh, she went outdoors with that magical thing she has, the one with the clicking noise. I remember when she got her first clicking thing - she was no more than ten. It seems to capture things inside, so she can look at them later. I hope she can look at this moment later, and remember the warmth and light and good company."
