This was a tough one...not good memories.

On December 30th, 1990, my Daughter and the rest of her Drill Team made a triumphant return home after taking 4th place at Nationals. This photo, would be the last one of the girls together. The next day (New Years Eve) the girls went over to Brenda’s for a get together. Many of the girls, including my
Daughter, had other plans so they went over and stayed a while, then left. Three of the girls stayed the night.
Some time in the early morning, a fire started. Since they were all sleeping and there were no fire detectors, the results were horrific. Two of the girls, a Brother, and his 7 year old Daughter died before the fire department could get the fire out. The other two girls were sleeping in the basement and were able to get out.
Telling my Daughter what happened was the hardest conversation ever. Every New Years, I think about this and relive the awful days that followed.
