MOC #21 - Unity-in-Diversity

Description
Journaling: This statue, now on the grounds of the Baha’I Center of Columbus Ohio, was one of two pieces created for the United Nations garden at the1992 Ameriflora Exhibition in the city. It is comprised of several torsos of varied ethnicities emerging from a lotus blossom and supporting a large sphere, as if holding aloft the promise of a new world. Standing about eight feet tall and three feet in diameter, the piece was created by three unnamed sculptors of the Baha’I faith whose time was volunteered for the project.

Such an interesting and pretty sculpture! I like the 3 chipboard circles that lead the eye around the page.

An interesting story and makes me wonder why they would not name the artists. Your journaling is wonderful and gives us a great background into the statue itself.

This is such a wonderful document page of a unique sculpture I have never even heard about! Lovely way to capture the sculpture and tell the history ♥
