In 2019 we lost our beloved Baxter. I knew I wanted to get another dog but needed to wait for mourning Baxter and make sure we were ready emotionally and so we weren't "replacing" him too soon. A year passed and we were looking at Westie puppy breeders and found one but the wait list was a year. We decided to get on it in 2021 thinking we would have a year to wait. Then we got notification that it was our turn and that our puppy would be born in October and ready to take home in December. We were so surprised! Due to Covid we were not able to meet him in person. This is something I've never done with getting a puppy. I like to go and meet them and make sure they are a good fit for our family. Corey and I talked about it and prayed about it extensively. Knowing that we had two Westies already that we love and are amazing dogs we decided to go for it!

I must say that Winston is the most amazing dog I have ever owned or been around. He was amazing the day we picked him up and has been amazing every single day he has been with us. He's so happy and easy going and funny and cute all wrapped up into this little white body. He has been of particular help to me in the last year with some very tough things that have happened. He is my buddy. He follows me around. He gets excited when he sees me. He lays with me on my recliner or the couch. He loves to snuggle right up against me at night in bed. It brings tears to my eyes when I think about how good God is to give us this amazing dog, who we were unable to meet before hand and that he is the most perfect dog for us and especially me. He fills my heart with such joy. January 14, 2023
What a cutie!! I love Westies and their personalities are simply the best. This is a great page and your love for Winston just leaps off the page with your amazing story-telling skills. I'm sorry you lost Baxter, but I'm happy that Winston found you. Thank you so much for playing along with this challenge. I hope it helps preserve your "gotcha day"!
