I think this has been my favorite challenge so far! These photographs were very much imperfect: the center one was badly underexposed (I had my camera in manual mode and thought it was in aperture-priority) and the other two had very busy backgrounds, filled with lots of competing colors. After using masking in Photoshop and gradient maps to convert the background to black-and-white, I still had issues in the gauzy fabric on the skirt, since the golden color of the wooden floor showed through. I added a desaturation layer and painted those sections of the skirt, and then added a solid color layer in light blue and set it to Color blend mode, and painted the mask to turn those grey sections blue. Worked like a charm!

ohhh wOw!!! she is so beautiful!!! a proper princess and the dress is dreamy....reminds me of my daughter at that age.... the whole page is awesome, and now I am reading what you did with the photos.... I wouldn't know half of it... and to me the photos look amazingly perfect now!!! superb job with [photo editing and the page, gorgeous all over!!!!
Adorable! The center close up on her face is gorgeous! It does not look imperfect at all. The selective coloring on her works really well with the blue dress.
Beautiful! You did a marvelous job editing the photos! Thanks so much for providing the examples and details; it's so cool to see into the process! The page is terrific as well! Love the paint and stitched details, and the journaling is wonderful! So much fun when a gift hits the bull's-eye! Awesome! Thanks for playing!
