The number 47 has significant meaning in the Gregory family. It all started because used the number frequently to make a point or exaggerate. For example, he might say”How long are we going to sit at this red light? 47 years?” Or “You don’t need to eat 47 desserts, one is plenty.” The number itself has even been exaggerated and you might hear “It’s probably going to cost $47,000, so we’ll do X instead.” It’s “HIS” number. He uses it so frequently, it’s part of his personality. And now it has spilled to the other family members as well. You can hear the kids or me using it when the emphasis helps us communicate an idea. And there are even certain friends outside the house that know this about him. And you can hear the reference made occasionally when a story is being told about him. So, now the number creeps into usernames, “pick a number between...games, and lucky numbers. It has permeated our lives in a positive way. It’s a number that makes us all giggle and think of Dad.
