My DH has his stash of 'vintage' legos too - they never go out of style (and especially after the Lego movie with that guy that always wanted to build a spaceship, my DS thought dad's lego was cool too so i can relate to this story!) I agree with Sara as well that the rainbow works so well with the lego them as well and i love your clean design with the mix of paper strips! thanks for playing along with me and the rainbow!
