This photo was taken on 10th September 2013, when I was
farewelling these very special friends due to my husband and
I moving away to another state. It was a sad lunch together.
We had met over 20 years ago at different times when I was
running the Share In Stamping Club. I knew Lyn before her
coming to the club as we attended the same Church. Then when
at one time we went to a different Church I met Cheryl R and
she came along to the Stamp Club as she became very interested
in card making. Cheryl C was the last one I met through her being
the neighbour of Barb.
When my life got too busy to organise the club because of
caring for my elderly parents, no one wanted to take over
my role of organiser so the club finished but this small group
who had formed a close friendship began to meet once a month
in my home to do our cardmaking.
Shirley took over hosting the get togethers when I left.
Sadly , Shirley passed away a year or so later. She was
in her early 80s in this photo. Cheryl C then stepped
in to host the cardmaking mornings at her home which
they still do but Cheryl R no longer attends. She and her
husband are still very close friends.
Now I live back close once again to these ladies I get to see
them in person instead of emails, cards or phonecalls.
