MOC #14 - From-Where-I-Stand

Description
Journaling: …I see a clever advertising device from the late 1800’s. C.C. Pedrick laid the horseshoes into the sidewalk to lead customers to his wagon and buggy repair shop on SW 1st Avenue. The horseshoes begin at 107 W. University Avenue and head east to 1st Street where they turn south to 20 SW 1st Street where they turn again west on SW 1st Avenue to about 106 where they appear to leave the sidewalk. Although the business is no longer there and with a nod to history, the City left the horseshoes when they repaired the sidewalks, even keeping them when they added the decorative brick on SW 1st Avenue.

Very interesting story. Nice that Gainesville wanted to preserve this part of their history. I love the paisley paper.

I really love the angle of your fun "where I stand" photo! Interesting story behind the horseshoes in the ground. Lovely colours & design!
