I chose to scrapbook the time in my life that I started a new chapter in books.
Journaling reads:
After working for B. Dalton for 8 years, it was time to move. Part of moving to the bay area was that there were no B. Dalton's to transfer to and so I tried my hand at the big bad Barnes & Noble for 2 months. I was completely miserable. I found my little independent home at A Clean Well-Lighted Place for Books in Cupertino, CA. Everything about it was so different than corporate books. I got to help shape what books we brought in and eventually became a book buyer. Including helping local authors sell their books. I helped with customers. I attended author signings in the store. I started my own book club in the store. I got to be around other book lovers all day. I was there as we closed the Cupertino store, sold the last books, and we turned the lights off for the final time in 1997 (as the last employee). I will always cherish my days in this chapter of my life.
Unfortunately, bookstores are becoming increasingly rare here, thanks to audiobooks and online retailers. It's a real shame. Your word art is fantastic, and you've perfectly showcased it with your design. Wonderful.
