MOC 13 - Day 10 - Move Forward - 3 YO Super Reader

While this may not look like moving forward to most, I have been wanting to do this album for over 3 decades. I have started and stopped it numerous times, but the task just seemed unsurmountable. Collecting the photos, figuring out the dates (from things that happened 30-50 years ago), and finding the memorabilia was just too hard. I finally decided for this year's MOC that I would use it as my spring board to complete my "My Life in Books" album. The more that I have worked on it, the more that I have felt accomplished and each new daily challenge has gotten me closer to my goal. Sometimes taking that first step reveals so many hidden treasures and things that you didn't know. I decided for this challenge, that I would finally tell this story about when I was 3. I have heard my mother tell it more times than I can count - how she thought I could read because every page that she turned in this story, I knew word for word! It turns out that I loved it so much that I had memorized EVERY page. This book was lost before I ever remember it, so I don't recall it. For the challenge, I called my mother and asked for more details - what did it look like, how old exactly was I, etc.. I was able to figure out that it was this Little Golden Book. Then, I went looking for a photo of me at 3 to use of what I looked like then and was so delighted to find an actual photo of my 3rd birthday getting a stack of LGB...because of my Cinderella obsession!! Finally, today, I went to a vintage marketplace and I could not believe my eyes when I found the actual book that I used to have memorized! The sense of all the pieces falling into place and accomplishment finding these things makes me so happy!
