Ashni really didn't want to get up in the morning and it took a lot of coaxing to get her out of bed and dressed. After much discussion, some crying and whining, and bargaining, we got out the door with her backpack full and ready to go. She went to her Mandarin class reluctantly, but without crying. Meanwhile, Diya and I waited outside so we could walk her to kindergarten. She was excited when she got out of Mandarin and played on the kindergarten playground while they waited for the bell to line up. When it was time to line up, she started crying. In order to get her to go into the classroom, Ms. Jordan had to hold her hand and drag her away from me. It was so sad. But then, when I went to pick her up, she didn't want to leave and exclaimed "Kindergarten is SO much FUN!". It may have been a rough start, but it was a good first day.
Aw, first days can be so emotionally trying for them and us! So happy to read that it worked out - great job journaling about the day! And I love the photos you captured for the day. Hope kindergarten continues to be fun! Thanks for participating in the challenge!
