My journaling:
As a child I was shy and withdrawn, I didn't have many friends and the ones I had lived 5 km from me, which meant we couldn't play that often outside of school. In our house we had a big drying attic where I loved spending time, especially in the summer when it was warm and nice. It was a special scent of old wood that I wish I could have put in a bottle to take out and sniff a little sometimes. Up in the attic there were also a lot of books that we got from our neighbor, whose child had read them when she was little. I loved sitting up there and losing myself in other worlds, for me the characters became "friends". A book character that has followed me through the years is Kulla-Gulla, an orphaned girl who grew up as a servant in a croft during the early 20th century. I loved reading about her hardships and I actually think it was Kulla-Gulla who laid the foundation for my interest in how the crofters lived in Sweden during the late 1800s and early 1900s. My mother sometimes talked about her upbringing as a maid, it felt like Kulla-Gulla gave me a little understanding of the life my mom had, even though she didn't tell me much about her younger years.
This layout is beautiful. The image is dreamy and the white leaves on the side frame it so nicely and tie in the journaling. Love the story of your connection with the book character.
I enjoyed your journaling very much although I am not familiar with the character. Your page is gorgeous - almost as if there is a light source behind it.
