Description:
Journaling: First noted in 2012, this large nest high in a tree located in The Landings on Skidaway Island was the home for a pair of eagles. They successfully fledged two eaglets in 2013 and one in 2014. In 2015 only one of the eagles was spotted, but a pair of Great Horned Owls took over the nest. One egg was laid on January 1 and a second on January 2. Both eggs hatched and two owlets successfully fledged in the spring. This year it appears the Owls may have returned although there are no eggs yet (1/11/16)

      Oh my goodness, look how close you got to the owl! Great photo! Or is that a webcam set up by a park service? Either way, what an awesome thing to see! Love your split in background photos + the mini-flowers attaching the two papers! Great layout!

      What an interesting history of the nest. TFS. Nice scraplift, also. And I LOVE the scattered acorns. The bird cam must be fun to follow.
