I like the clean and simpler style of this page which lets the photo be the star. I do like your blue background from the first page better though.
I'd like to challenge you to do a third option -- one with NO flowers. They don't fit the theme of this page and I think there are many other nautical elements which would work.
@flowersgal lol I wanted to stick to one kit for these challenges but I thought about adding a kayak element from a Lynne Marie kit in instead of the Birch painted circle on the Max page & saw a different seagull in a more red & blue kit of Lynn's (it had a lighthouse and some anchors I think but the mood was so different, I turned off the stars in the template b/c they didn't work conceptually to me & went with flowers over nautical (where we live has 2 lighthouses so I kind of associate them with 'home' but this was 'away' - I like the idea of a themed and non-themed challenge though.. you might have given me an idea for next month!
@bellbird - Well I will be looking forward to next month's challenge. I understand about the one kit option and keeping the color scheme. I guess I'm just sick of tons of flowers scattered over so many layouts that overwhelm the photos and/or the story. Thanks for listening and taking the idea into consideration.
@flowersgal I laughed initially at your too many flowers comment just b/c it feels ironic coming from you considering your name but I get what you mean, I think I use more flowers now generally than I used to & still think my Digi pages need to look 'flat enough ' that they'd fit into a plastic page protector if it was a 'real' page & use them more on outdoor pages or my daughter's pages but there are some I agree that flowers don't 'belong' like this one for example https://the-lilypad.com/forum/galleries/moc12-26-skateboard-woodjournalframe.560323/
