As I was cleaning out the pots and areas of the garden that had never been ‘put to bed’ last year, I took a good look at one pot that had a sprout that didn’t look like the common weeds I find. I looked at it carefully when it was the size of the teeny tiny leaf at the bottom right. I thought, ok I’ll give it some more time. And as it grew the leaves made me think I knew this little plant. Finally I decided to pull it up and repot it.
Low and behold it was a bit of a sprouted potato that I stuck into the soil in March. I said to the plant, and they do like talking to, I’ll find you a big pot later so you can turn into some nice new potatoes for us. We are all growing, little one.
Love hearing your conversation with the potato plant... it's amazing what will come up and surprise us! Great photo and the background paper is fab too!
beautiful page - and how wonderful, i love such finds in the garden in spring when i see that little plant suddenly sprout by itself - and i also talk to them♥
