March2025_LOD_Tangie Baxter_Letting Go Zine

Description
I am a big fan of Tangie's kits. I love playing with mixed media and I find that Tangie's items lend themselves really well to hybrid.

She has a kit that comes with instructions to make a zine. So I used that as my base for my zine. I added papers and cards from a variety of kits and printed it out.

I folded it per the instructions and then added cut out elements from the kits, items from the kit and some journaling.

My zine is about letting go my fear around sewing. I am an advanced sewist, I can alter anything, make quilts, make clothing, bags, etc. But for a long time I was a bit 'oh I can't do that, I don't have the skills'. My quilts were looking samey, so in 2022 I stepped out of my comfort zone and I haven't looked back!

I used all Tangie Baxter items -

Amazing Zine Claire. I’ve seen some of your sewing and you’re amazing. I love the journaling, I love the dimension, I love the choices. Just so cool. Thanks for playing along.

That quilt is fantastic. Yes, bright and cheerful colors are your thing. I love every single bit of this. The way this book opens is crazy great.
