On our second trip to Washington one of the places
we visited was North Bend. At a coffee stop one
morning Christopher came out with this sticker,
and it kind of sums up our dreams. An A-Frame in
the forest. Warm and cozy and peaceful. We have
since realized that this sweet simplicity, this
rustic, charming vibe is exactly what we want for
our lives. How we get from where we are now
to that place in the forest where we feel like
we are right where we have been led to go, remains
a mystery at the moment. There are so many
things that we've never done included in that
journey. So many decisions, sacrifices, and lots
of letting go of things that will not serve
us any longer. It will also require overcoming
fear, and doing things that are scary and
overwhelming. Is anything great achieved without
risk, or taking a leap? Can we truly appreciate
being where we want to be if we didn't have to
earn our place there? I don't think we can. I know
that things don't always work out the way we want
them to, or the way we had planned. I just have to
have hope that we can overcome trials and
challenges that might stand in our way, and
that in the end we will find ourselves
content, and better for having undertaken
the journey in the first place.
