Just Jaimee: Every Day Stitches
Yesterday we spent the day in the pool. Just me and you at grandma and grandpas. It was nice to have just the two of us, it is rare lately and truth be told I miss our bonding time. The years have passed too quickly and you are now a teenager! Of course, you’re still not your average teen but the hormones are catching up with you. You are a lot more independent now. And you ask a lot more questions than you have in the past. You want to impress the “girls” and talk about things other boys your age do. I often have to take a breath and just let it sink in. You are no longer that mama’s boy who needs me to hold your hand; instead you’re a little man growing up before my very eyes. As you splash around in the water and stare at me with those serious big blue eyes of yours asking me questions that no mother wants to answer about masturbation; I shed a tear. A tear for not only the tiny little boy I lost, but a tear of happiness for the man you are becoming.
