My journaling reads:
Summers when you were a kid lasted FOREVER. Or so it seemed at the time. There was so much to do. So many adventures just waiting to be had. All you needed was your imagination; a tree became a look-out or a fort. A hedge became a den, somewhere to seek shelter from the heat of the midday sun. A field of grass turned into a maze, with treasure just waiting to be discovered. Stone steps were giant mountains waiting to be conquered. You stayed outdoors for hours and in all weathers. T-shirt tans were the order of the day. Mum & dad called you in when your tea was ready but you were always itching to get back outside and make the most of the last of the evening sun, until the street lights came on & it was finally time to go home.
Thanks for looking!
