This site was part of our prayer journey to revival sites in our state, and was a place of rest and worship for slaves in southern S.C. The visit there made a deep impact upon me. Their faith was tangible.

@IntenseMagic Thank you. It has been interesting, surprising and inspiring to study this history of awakenings in our region- specifically here, in our state. We had stumbled upon a similar camp while antiquing in N.C. Nobody could tell us what it was. 3 years later, while doing this research, I learned it was a camp from the 2nd Great Awakening in America!! -- like these!
