Just the Two of Us

In the beginning, it was just the two of us. We had the freedom and the passion that young couples do, and we could do whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted to. Now, we're at a different season in our lives. Our son Dylan has changed our lives, and we are enjoying the early stages of parenthood. We may have more children to come, and we definitely have a long road ahead of us as parents. But at the end of that road, when Dylan is grown and has flown the nest, it will be back to just the two of us. If I squint at this photo, I can imagine the two of us, old and gray, holding hands, and enjoying life together, just as we used to.
