You totally got the spirt of the original layout. I scraplift all the time The purpose is not to copy, but to be inspired. It is amazing when the piece you are working on comes to life and takes a direction of its own. I think that makes it true art.
Such a great layout, your photo is awesome! I just love a monochromatic color scheme and the two strip of paper you used look almost as if they are part of the photo!
