I LOVE journlaing challenges. This one is MOC-inspired - this is the companion page to the layout documenting my husband's birthday last April. That was the first time we'd met someone face-to-face after the seven-week-long lockdown and hope was in the air. It all seemed like it'll be over soon... remembering that evening is so entertaining now... 10 months into the new normal with no real light at the end of the tunnel...
The journaling reads:
This was the first time we'd met someone face to face since the beginning of the pandemic. Mask free. Everyone was feeling hopeful that the virus was being brought under control and in a couple of months the 'new normal' would be the thing of the past. There was a schedule outlining when the shops, restaurants and schools would be reopened. That night we talked COVID, made plans for the summer and hoped travel would resume so that the wedding could go as planned. Little did we know. It was also the first time Jack had met new people (he was a little apprehensive in the beginning). The photo of us cleaning the kitchen was taken by Fia and was intended to be the photo of Jack snuggled up between our feet. His ususal spot.
He did try to growl a little and avoid all interaction with the strangers, but, being a smart Jackie-boy, he figured out almost instantly that giving in to extra cuddles and hugs means extra treats and... that he actually loves being loved.
He was got to be cuddled with and to be cute so we would swoon all over him and want to give him cheese. And... he's the right dog for the job: affectionate and gob-smack in the middle of every action. He still has this super silky coat (which we hope wold not turn woolly as it sometimes does) and he's fluffy beyond belief. At 16 weeks old he bounces around like the most adorable ball of fluff, tripping over his own feet with excitement, and hasn't learned to open his mouth to catch a treat flying his way yet.
