The "Japanese Village and Deer Park" was a Buena Park, California attraction that operated from 1967 to 1975. It was a Japanese-themed amusement park featuring a herd of deer roaming freely, similar to Nara Park in Japan. The park also included traditional Japanese buildings, shows, and an aquatheater with water shows featuring seals, dolphins, and bears.
Seeing that photo reminded me of a memory I have no photo for! Somewhere in San Francisco, my parents took me to a park with goats to feed and as soon as the grain or corn or whatever was in my hand, they were all over me and it scared the you-know-what out of me! It was around 1968 as well! LOL I probably looked a lot like you in the photo! Very cool page!
This is beautiful, the colors are so perfect with that old photo. What a fund one to find in your stash. I love this slightly off-kilter vertical down the the center of the page.
