JOURNALING:
MY THOUGHTS ON CONNECTING WITH YOURSELF –
From the Journal of Pacific Rim Psychology – “We define self-connection as: (1) an awareness of oneself, (2) an acceptance of oneself based on this awareness, and (3) an alignment of one’s behavior with this awareness.” With this definition in mind, I try to achieve awareness by spending quiet time with just myself. Sometimes it is only five minutes, but it gives me energy to face the sometimes hectic existence that seems to be inherent in our modern society. During this quiet time I can tune in to my feelings and (try to) understand them, always with this phrase “feelings are neither right nor wrong, they just are” as my guiding principal. If I’m honest with myself, trying to aligning my actions with any awareness this process has evoked is difficult. (130 words)
