JOURNALING: "Feather Point" is a 20-foot tall cast stainless steel sculpture by artist Olga Ziemska. It was erected in Thaddeus Kosciuszko Park in 2017 and also can be seen from the roadway. The sculpture was inspired by the coat of arms of Kosciuszko's native Poland and pays homage to Bill Moose, the last of the Wyandot American Indian Tribe to live in Ohio.
Thaddeus Kosciuszko was a general during the Revolutionary War and was given land in Ohio for his contributions to the war effort. It was his plans for the construction of West Point that Benedict Arnold tried to sell to the British. Many of the trees in this 36.5 acre park have been around since the times of the Wyandottes who used the area for their annual maple syrup sugar camp.

This is a fascinating story that ties in to so much U.S. and local history. We were lucky to see it just before the dedication. No one else was around and we were able to get uncluttered photos of the sculpture. Your layout has a nice Indian "vibe."
