Journaling:
My most memorable relationship created through the “wonders” of technology occurred in 2003 when I adopted my first Papillon. My husband and I had recently moved to Florida and were living in an apartment while our home was under construction. I knew I had wanted a Papillon dog, just not right while still in an apartment. However, I was “searching the web” and came upon this picture:
Well, this little “Highway Man” stole my heart. The breeder, Niki, from “ D’Vine Papillons” in Kansas, and I corresponded back and forth via email and she chose me to adopt her “little man”. Niki agreed to keep “Roadie”, as she had named him, until our house was ready. Emails and photos continued over the next few weeks. The only time we actually talked on a phone was when his plane was delayed in St. Louis and a nervous “lady in Kansas” called an equally nervous “ lady in Florida” to let me know.
Over the years we emailed back and forth as I kept her updated on all of Bijou’s (my name for him; it means “jewel” in French) accomplishments. I never met Niki, but saw several of her other Papillons in the show ring when I was exhibiting two of my Paps.

What a sweet baby. I can't imagine how worried you were when his plane was delayed with him flying half-way across the country! And just a baby. And, look at those ears and that smile on your grown-up "little jewel." I think there's another one in your life right now that smiles a lot and has beautiful "butterfly" ears! Although Bijou was a boy, I love that the background paper on your layout is almost "Barbie" pink to match his baby picture background! LOVE the paw prints border around the journaling.
