How fabulous and what an interesting photo.. I never would have thought to do that. I think you scrapped it beautifully here and I love the journaling too! Now you sparked an idea for me too !!! Love the composition here and the colors of the paper and elements are just perfect for your gorgeous photo of the candle (it actually looks like a flower almost!!!) So very cool! Great page!
@cfile, I was intrigued by the comments on the challenge thread when I first read it and decided I would see what I could find to photograph here at home before going to bed. I looked around after turning my desk chair away from my desk and toward the rest of the loft. I didn't think of anything that excited me until I blew the candle out. Then I was excited and did the whole thing. No reason to get up early tomorrow so I'l be able to sleep in. I hadn't noticed how much the candle looked like a flower until I took this photograph. That then sparked the title. I look forward to seeing your idea. I hope it works well. Thanks for stopping by.
I love your take in the challenge! You have lines leading to the flame and framing it. And the page is beautifully scrapped. Love the flower stamps that reinforce the flower-like shape in the photo. Thanks for joining the challenge!
@bellbird, thank you. One of the reasons I love MOC is the way I see my creative brain go in wonderfully satisfying directions as the I respond to the prompts and to others.
@Angela Toucan, thank you. I have, at least once, made a layout about the backstory of making a layout but this...was simply musing about how I came to take a photo I love of an inconsequential candle I was about to toss into the trash a few weeks ago. Teaching oneself to see differently is one of the keys to photography. After a two year break, I restarted a daily photography practice on Sunday.
@designbylime, thank you. I haven't yet opened the blinds and I was able to get pretty much the same photo using just the filtered light from outside instead of the lighting (one out of 5 tracks on). Both times I moved back and zoomed in to avoid the shadow from the camera (iPhone 14) and my body. Could this photo be justification for my recent phone upgrade?
