Here's my journaling incase you can't read it, about our oversized utensil holder... (lol!)
"When we got married the first time in Hong Kong, I knew we wouldn’t be able to have all the little touches within our theme that I wanted due to budget, time constraints etc. But one thing I was determined to get into our day was our love for LEGO, so we had a little table set up at the reception with some generic blocks and some permanent markers and we encouraged our guests to build a little canvas and write us a message instead of having a traditional guest-book. It seemed to work quite well, and our guests wrote out lovely little reminders and tidbits and memories on the blocks. When we returned home in 2017, I had all of these saved and didn’t really know what to do with them, so I just started building and they somehow ended up forming a cube, that now lives in our kitchen and holds all the oversized utensils. It’s a bit random but every time I reach for a spoon or am in the process of making food, I see these little messages reflected back at me and they bring me such joy. I love that they are now a permanent fixture in our kitchen and that they are a visible reminder of our friends across the seas and our little wedding ceremony in Hong Kong all those years ago!"
How cool is that !?! I went to a LEGO themed wedding once & my son's preschool graduation was LEGO themed as well. The napkin/utensil holders were all made of LEGO. Really cool how your idea ended up having a practical purpose. Such a great reminder of the love shown to you that day! Thank you so much for joining the storytelling challenge!
